More Vocals Pay Off For APOCALYPTICA
September 15, 2008The Pulse of Radio reports: "Worlds Collide", the latest album from Finnish metal cello quartet APOCALYPTICA, is not their first effort to feature vocals but makes the most use of them. Guest singers on the disc include THREE DAYS GRACE frontman Adam Gontier, SLIPKNOT vocalist Corey Taylor and others. APOCALYPTICA member Eicca Toppinen told The Pulse of Radio why the human voice has become a bigger part of the group's sound. "We've been all the time adding new elements on the APOCALYPTICA, based on the music we write," he said. "So it's been, all the time, we see what the music requests. A lot of songs we write at the moment, we feel that, okay, it's a great track as an instrumental but, you know, it could be so much better with a singer. So why don't we ask singer, you know?"
Other guests on the record include LACUNA COIL singer Cristina Scabbia, RAMMSTEIN frontman Til Lindemann and SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo.
Adam Gontier sings on the group's current single, "I Don't Care".
APOCALYPTICA is currently on a new round of U.S. tour dates that brings the outfit to Madison, Wisconsin on Monday night (September 15).
